3D CAD & rapid prototyping

Practical models from sketches, photos, measurements.

Practical 3D CAD, drafting, and rapid prototyping for jobs that need a clean file before they need a shop. DXF, SVG, STEP, or printed test parts, prepared for a laser, a printer, or a CNC somewhere else.

Where we sit

3D CAD, clear boundaries.

We handle the practical side of design: cut-ready vectors, print-ready geometry, simple brackets and enclosures, prototype iterations, and clean files built from sketches, photos, or measurements. The goal is a file that is easy to quote, easy to machine, and honest about the material it will become.

If your project needs structural engineering stamps, moulding draft analysis, or a multi-week assembly tree, we will recommend the right specialist. If you need a clean DXF, SVG, or STEP file to move a real project forward, we’re glad to help.

Typical work

Small prototypes, cleanly.

  • Redrawing a photograph or sketch into clean, cut-ready vectors.
  • Parametric laser templates: insert boxes, jig plates, display stands.
  • Quick brackets and housings to hold a part we’re already printing.
  • Rapid prototype loops when the first version needs to be held, measured, and improved.
  • Honest advice when a different tool — an engineer, a specialist, a service bureau — is the better fit.

How it’s priced

The same shop rate.

CAD work runs at $200/hr. Most jobs we’d take on here are short — an hour or two, sometimes a half-day. If it’s going to run longer than that we’ll tell you up front and recommend a specialist.

CAD folded into a laser or print job we’re already doing gets quoted as part of the overall project, not separately.

Send it over

CAD inquiry.

Describe what you’re trying to draw and what it’s going to be made from. A photo of the existing object or a rough sketch goes a long way — reply to our first email with attachments.
