Laser cutting & engraving

Big-bed laser work, built like a real project.

We run a Thunder Nova Pluswith a 51-inch bed — large enough for cornhole boards, storefront signs, oversized seating charts, and illustrated map panels; patient enough for intricate inlay and 2000 DPI black-and-white engravings. Wood, acrylic, leather, slate, and paperboard are the core lane here. We do not offer metal cutting, CNC routing, or general metal fabrication.

Typical jobs

What the bed is used for.

Custom cornhole and tabletop game boards. Large-format maps, illustrated panels, and shop signs. Wedding signage and keepsakes. Leather goods with crisp stitch lines. Production runs of coasters, tags, and inlays. Awards, fixtures, and gifts that need to feel like they came from somewhere. We love a job where the final piece is the proof — hand-feel, grain, edge quality, and image detail all speaking at once.

How it’s priced

Shop time, setup, materials.

Laser work is quoted at $200/hrof shop time — the rate that covers the machine, the operator, and the fume extraction humming away behind it.

Every project picks up a $20 jig-setup fee and roughly half an hourof shop time for custom fixturing — aligning the material, proofing a test cut, getting the registration honest before we commit the real piece.

On top of that: the cost of your materials. If you’re supplying your own, we’ll just add the setup and run-time. If you’d like us to source — plywood, acrylic sheet, leather, slate, paperboard — we’ll quote the stock and keep receipts.

Small jobs feel the jig fee more than big ones. It’s why a run of two hundred coasters comes out per-piece cheaper than a run of five. Rush work is quoted case by case and depends on material availability, design readiness, and the production queue.
